Nigeria fuel availability update: Lagos (DNMM) and Abuja (DNAA) — May 2021

    May 18, 20214 min read

Following reports of intermittent Jet-A1 supply disruptions at Nigerian airports in April 2021, GAS has conducted a full assessment of current fuel availability at Murtala Muhammed International Airport (DNMM/LOS) and Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport (DNAA/ABV).

    Lagos (DNMM)

Jet-A1 availability has normalized at DNMM following supply chain issues in April. However, uplift should be confirmed at least 48 hours in advance. Pricing remains elevated compared to regional averages — approximately 15% above the May 2021 West African benchmark.

    Abuja (DNAA)

Abuja has maintained more consistent supply throughout this period. Uplift confirmations within 24 hours are generally possible. Pricing is slightly lower than Lagos at present.

    Recommendations

Operators should plan to carry sufficient fuel from origin where possible. All Nigeria fuel uplifts should be booked through GAS to leverage our confirmed supply agreements with approved fuel suppliers at both stations.
